Combination Tours – Oak Alley, St. Joseph or Destrehan And Swamp

Due to our swamp’s location and proximity to the plantations, our combination tours offer you less travel time than most other tour companies. For example, our Oak Alley/St. Joseph Plantation and Swamp Tour Combo require only 78 miles right from downtown New Orleans. Combination tours for both individuals and groups can be arranged for you by the tour experts at Cajun Pride Swamp Tours!

Pick-up available from many New Orleans, Metairie and Kenner hotels. Combination tours are offered only 1 time per day.

Swamp/Oak Alley or St. Joseph: Due to the length of this tour, we recommend our guests eat a hearty breakfast and pack a bagged lunch or snack. Lunch is not provided at the swamp; however, snacks (alligator jerky, chips, chocolate, candy and frozen bananas) are available for purchase. 

Pick-up BEGINS at 10:30AM and may continue for up to 30 minutes (10:30-11:00AM). Please be OUTSIDE and ready for pick-up when the driver arrives, keeping in mind that buses have no parking areas and will be allowed to stop only momentarily for pick-ups. Due to traffic delays and the number of stops, we ask that you be outside and ready for this 30-minute period. 

After leaving the city at 11:00AM, our buses arrive at the swamp at approximately 11:30AM. Upon arrival, please proceed directly upstairs to obtain an entrance ticket. An entrance ticket is required in order to tour the swamp.

Guests will have 15-30 minutes of free time to enjoy the grounds at Cajun Pride, browse the gift shop or use the restroom.

Boats leave promptly at 12:00PM for a 90-minute narrated boat tour of the Manchac Swamp.

Buses depart the swamp between 1:45-2:00PM for a 35-minute drive to the plantations.

Guest drop-off is between 2:45-3:00PM for a scheduled tour time. The plantations require our bus driver to assist in the check-in process for ticket distribution.

St. Joseph tour time is 3:00PM; Oak Alley tour time is 3:30PM. The plantations set the assigned tour times, and we are unable to deviate from these times.

Bus pick-up for transfer back to the city is 4:15-4:30PM at St. Joseph; 4:30-4:45PM at Oak Alley.

Hotel drop-off is between 5:45-6:15PM.

Swamp/Destrehan: The closest plantation to New Orleans! Your guided tour will explore the plantation’s unique architecture, showcase rare historical documents, and offer a glimpse into the personal lives of the Destrehan family and the enslaved individuals who sustained the plantation. You’ll also see an inventory listing the names of those who were enslaved here and step inside an original slave cabin to better understand their daily lives.

Destrehan Tour time is between 11:15-11:30AM for a 60-minute guided tour. This time is what is offered through Destrehan Plantation, and we are unable to deviate from our assigned tour time.

Guests will have up to 60-minutes of free time to pick-up pre-ordered lunch at Destrehan’s Indigo Café and explore the plantation grounds.

Buses depart Destrehan between 1:15-1:30PM for Cajun Pride Swamp Tours. Upon arrival, please proceed directly upstairs to obtain an entrance ticket. An entrance ticket is required in order to tour the swamp.

Boats leave promptly at 2:15PM for a 90-minute narrated boat tour of the Manchac Swamp.

Bus pick-up for transfer back to the city is 4:00PM. Hotel drop-off is between 4:30-4:45PM.
